This document provides functional details and Frequently Asked Questions for the Group Auto Assign App developed by Wasserman Digital.

 

HOW TO:

Create an Auto Assign Rule

  1. Click the “Add a New Customer Group Rule” button to open the “Add New Auto Group Assignment Rule” screen.
  2. Enter the Domain name to match on (e.g. @acmeco.com).
  3. Select a Group from the Group List.
  4. Click the “Submit” button.

 

This will add the new rule and will display in the list of rules. Any new customers from the domain that you set up will be assigned to the group that you selected. To update existing customers, please run the Sync Auto Assign Rules option.

 

Edit an Auto Assign Rule – domain name

  1. On the Customer Group List grid, click the “Edit” link to modify a rule.
  2. Change the Domain name that you would like to match on.
  3. Confirm the Rule is updated in the Customer Group List.

 

Edit an Edit an Auto Assign Rule – Group

  1. On the Customer Group List grid, click the “Edit” link to modify a rule.
  2. Change the Group that a user will be added to
  3. Confirm the Rule is updated in the Customer Group List.

 

Delete an Auto Assign Rule

  1. On the Customer Group List grid, click the “Delete” link to remove a rule.
  2. Confirm the Deletion

 

Sync Auto Assign Rules to historic Accounts

  1. If you would like to update existing accounts based on a new Auto Assign rule,  click the “Run Historic Customer Sync” Button. This will cycle through all existing accounts and update the ones that match the rule.

NOTE: this process may run for an extended period for stores with a large number of customers.
